Our Philosophy: Harmony with Nature


At Krontiras Wines, every decision we make reflects our deep respect for nature. We not only cultivate our vineyards biodynamically, but we have also designed our winery to harmonize with its surroundings, ensuring a sustainable balance between production and ecosystem.

Caring for the Land, Cultivating Life


We replace agrochemicals with biodiversity. Cover crops enrich the soil, improve its structure and aeration, and promote the development of essential microorganisms. We incorporate species such as vetch, barley, rye, wheat, oats, radish, and millet, along with flowers like cosmos, calendula, and chamomile, as well as native grasses such as coirón.

Our goal is to restore the Mendoza landscape within our vineyards, progressively replacing exotic species with native vegetation. Flowers attract pollinators and foster a balanced ecosystem, which has led to the identification of 36 bird species on our estate in the latest survey.

To further strengthen this natural balance, we have integrated fruit trees and native shrubs that provide shelter and food for local wildlife. Additionally, we have installed nesting boxes to encourage insectivorous birds, which serve as natural pest controllers.

Our biological corridors and the reduction of agrochemical use have allowed nature to self-regulate, consolidating a resilient and sustainable environment.

A Living Winery: Architecture in Balance


Our philosophy extends beyond the vineyard to the winery itself. Built according to the principles of biodynamic architecture, its design avoids right angles to allow the free flow of energy.

More than just a building, the winery is a living organism that breathes in harmony with the landscape. Naturally integrated into the Lunlunta vineyard, its form follows the patterns of sacred geometry, where the golden ratio (φ) and the number pi (π) are not just mathematical principles but manifestations of natural order. Every line and curve reflects the intention to create a space that enhances the wine’s vital energy during its aging and evolution.

We use natural insulating materials, such as organic straw, which significantly reduce energy consumption and optimize resource use, minimizing our environmental footprint. Additionally, much of the winery is built below ground level, naturally maintaining a stable temperature and reducing the need for artificial climate control. Its strategic orientation maximizes natural light, lowering energy consumption and creating a harmonious workspace.

Forty percent of the energy we use comes from clean sources, thanks to solar panels installed on the winery’s roof, reaffirming our commitment to sustainability.

Wines with Identity: A True Expression of Origin


Our winemaking approach is clear: we craft wines that express their place of origin. All our fermentations occur with indigenous yeasts, and most of our wines are produced without added sulfites, preserving the purity of the terroir and the work in the vineyard.

A Sustainable Cycle: From Nature, Back to Nature


Every resource we use returns to the earth in a conscious manner. Our wastewater undergoes biofiltration through a system of wood chips and Californian earthworms, which transform organic matter into humus—a natural fertilizer that we reuse in the vineyard.

The purified water is then used to irrigate a small eucalyptus forest and pasture fields, providing shade and food for our animals during spring and summer.
